Vorum looked out upon the shining expanse of water from his perch upon a large rock. Crystal lake, was his favourite place in all the packlands. The massive expanse of glittering beauty that was the lake mesmerized Vorum, it put his mind at ease. The peaceful shimmering water reminded him of his pack, of his friends and the empty place that would hold his family if not for the face that they're dead. Although he always believed that happiness can not exist without being able to look back on al the bad things thst have happened. Sometimes the greatest things are at the cause of the most horrible disasters.
He felt the refreshing mist that wafted on the wind to where he stood. The cooling mist brushed away his thoughts of disaster that so often haunted his mind. He looked to the east and saw the faint tendrils of light shooting out of the forest that undoubtedly announced the arrival of morning. He had to return to the pack, else they would worry.
He lazily dragged his paws away and fell from the rock alighting again on the wild log that had eased his assent to the top of the rock and finally the soft, cool ground. He saw the familiar stump that he always scraped with his long sharp talons every time he came. Those times have passed but, for fun, he looked at his paws and slashed the stump. He jump back when the force of his claws tore the stump clear out of the ground. "Well...I guess I have gotten stronger..." Vorum remarked as he stared at the empty space where the stump had been. He noticed an army of ants file out of the stump that lay about 3 feet away. "oh...", he quickly ran into the forest that surrounded the lake. He was a little embarrassed... And a bit guilty that he had destroyed the ant's home. In his haste he almost tripped over a root and almost ran into a tree.
He picked out the scent of wolf. "The others must have sent out a hunting patrol already..." he said to himself...

WindCatcher's golden eyes glowed as she padded through the forest, seeing the crystal lake ahead. Her white paws skimmed over the wet grass with dew from this morning. She lowered her head, and her nostrils took in faded whiffs of the dew. Although there was not much of a smell, she enjoyed the wet feeling. As she picked her head back up, she could scent another wolf - a male, most likely. Her nose twitched as she took in more of the scent. It was a male alright; a male she hadn't met before. She had yet met only three wolves, and by far she had not wished to meet a wolf from the Marum Pack. Although she could not tell much from the wolf, she highly doubted it was from the dark pack. Now was only her pack, or the Aduro - light pack. As she paced closer to the lake, she raised her head, and her tail every so slightly swished. Her ears were pricked forward and alert, and she gained more self control. Earlier she had been off guard - since she had thought she was alone - but now there was another wolf. She didn't want her first impression to be a calm wolf who wasn't alert for a time in need. She took a deep breath, and quickened her steps. She stopped for a minute, her wars flicked, as she listened to the surroundings sounds. Her mother had told her that her ears and nose were most important when her eyesight was not working. She sat down beside a tree, and her ears flicked. She looked behind a brush, seeing eyes peering out. She followed their view to a log with ants scrambling out. She smiled, and stepped forward towards the log. She pawed the log, and it tipped over a bit. She looked back towards the brush. "They're not harmed," She said, seeing the wolf had a light soul. "But yet there home is destroyed." She sat down, and bent her head over the lake, seeing her reflection. She smiled, and her tongue skimmed over the water. She licked her chomps, and sat down again.

Vorum saw a wolf walk out of the forest, she saw the stump that he had earlier destroyed. Vorum's ears bent back against his head in shame, he walked out of the brush. He thingyed his head, confused, he had never seen the wolf that now stood before him but she had the smell of Terminus. "I'm confused, I have yet to meet you but you smell of my pack. Who are you?" Vorum inquired. The wolf that was seated not 6 meters away had beutiful golden eyes, fur that seemed to flowlike the water that rested infront of her. He licked his fur to make sure he was representable, strolled over to where she the new wolf sat, and sat down. Vorum gently rested his head on his paws and started to hum low in his chest. The tune that he hummed was soft and gentle: a lullaby that his mom used to sing when he was but a pup. The tune was soothing but haunting thought soon crept inrto Vorum's head when he was reminded of his mother.
He closed his eyes and a small clearing soon appeared. The clearing beheld a small brook with a collection of bushes and ferns that hid the clearing from prying eyes. Two wolves sauntered into the clearing and sank to the ground. The wolves looked at eachother and nuzzled one another, a soft, raspy howl came from behind them and a small cub pounced upon the wolves. The cub gently swiped at the other wolves playfully, as if they were his parents. The male of the older wolves grabbed the cub by theneck and tossed him onto a clump of grass.
The small clearing vanished, to be replaced by an area devoid of any life. A muddy stream ran down one side and a large gray tree strpped of it's leaves stood in the center of the clearing. At the base of the large tree lay two bodies. The wolf corpses lay in an infinite embrace that will follow them to afterlife.
Vorum's eyes flashed open, he noticed he was hyperventilating and quickly calmed himself. He tried to focus upon what was happening other than resting on the past.

WindCatcher's nose twitched as she observed the wrecked ant home once more. Pretty soon the ants vanished into other parts of log, and WindCatcher's golden eyes looked over to the white wolf. "I am WindCatcher, from the Terminus Pack." She said. Her eyes glanced behind the wolf, where a small brown hare nibbled on some grass blades. She smiled, and closed her eyes for a minute. "And what pack are you from? Terminus, or Aduro?" She looked back to the log. "You defiantly don't seem like a Marum member," She said, seeing it was obvious to the both of them. Her tail swished as she observed the hare once more. It's ears were held high in the air, and it's little nose twitching as it nibbled on the grass. She looked back to the wolf, and smiled, leaving the hare alone. WindCatcher looked down to the shimmering silver water. It flowed down the bank, the sun beating on its delicate surface. Her eyes followed the water down the bank, seeing as it trickled over a log in the middle of the lake. WindCatcher stood up, and padded over to the log. She swiftly climbed over it, and she landed to the other side. Her tail swayed over her legs as she looked down into the lake. She gently padded the water with her tongue, taking in small amounts. Her ears perked forward, and she looked over to the wolf. "Yes, you are new to me too. Yet I have not met many wolves in my time here," She said. She looked up to the sky. "But yet I seem to always be on the trail of another wolf," She said, as she looked down to her paws again. (This picture is just temporary, since I haven't gotten a photobucket yet ) Attachments:

Vorum followed Windcatcher's gaze and found a small rabbit. He sank low into a crouch and bolted at the rabbit, scooping it up in his jaws as he passed. Vorum slashed his head to the right, then the left to brea the rabbit's neck. He sat down and rested his kill over his paws and started ripping pieces of meat of of the small carcass. "I suspected a new wolf around here, I've been picking up on your scent for some time now," he said, " I thought it might be a threat so I have been patrolling the lake for a half moon."
Vorum looked to the carcass that he had been chewing on. There were several more bites left on it so he pushed it towards Windcatcher with his nose and quickly stood. " If you would like some you should eat quickly the pack will be expecting us, come." he told Windcatcher as he took a few steps towards the shining lake. He lowered his head and lapped up the water hesitantly. The water was freezing cold! His head and teeth hurt from the freezing water, he shook his head and walked past Windcatcher towards the trees that surrounded the lake. His paws sank into the damp sand as he neared the trees while going over his teeth with his tongue to warm them.
Once Vorum was completely immersed by the trees he turned and found a patch of mint. He pulled over a large branch from a newly fallen pine tree and draped it over himself as he sank into the small patch of mint. He was going to spy on Windcatcher, he liked her and he thought she was actually quite a beutiful wolf but for his pack's sake he had to be cautious. The mint would help to hide his scent and the pine branch would hopefully hide his figure from Windcatcher's searching gaze...

WindCatcher sat down as she watched Vorum take on the rabbit. She rubbed her nose with her paw, and shook her head, her ears bobbing back and forth. "Nice kill," She said, as she lied down. She watched Vorum rip pieces from the rabbit, and then scoot it towards her. She put her paw out. "I've already eaten today; Elden gave me his leftovers as well." She smiled, and her golden eyes looked to the rabbit carcass. She listened to his words, and then sat up, her pelt swaying over her limbs. "There's no need, really." She said, as she looked up to the swaying trees overhead. "If we're both in the same pack, you should know about what's been happening. Do you not?" She smiled, her golden eyes searching the wolf. "Well, you should know." She sighed, and looked down her paws, then out of the corner of her eye saw her tail thumping the ground lightly. She had the puppy look, that her parents had always told her about. And yet, she felt like one, too. She then looked up at Vorum, her eyes narrowed - a true wolf of authority. "Elden is planning on taking the rank of Alpha male," She said, looking up to the trees once more. "Valand may be second in command, and as for me - we're still thinking of ranks for me." She smiled, and closed her eyes. "Yet the pack wouldn't be expecting us - there is of no need, for now." Her eyes opened again, and she smiled. "So you've been picking up my scent? I knew there was more than just one wolf around here," She said, as she brisked her pace by the lake. "Hmm. Well, now we're not strangers?" She smiled. As Vorum made his way back into the woods. WindCatcher led her head droop. Her ears fell forward, and her tail curved around her legs. She heard a soft rustling, then everything was quiet. WindCatcher let her ears prick forward, and her nose was in the air. Although Vorum's image was gone, his scent was not. WindCatcher smiled. Another curious male. Well, who wouldn't be? WindCatcher had gone through so many things in her past time...

Vorum quietly rolled around in the mint, crushing the plants and letting their fragrance envelop him. He prayed to Fenris that he would not be detected. For if Windcatcher found him trying to spy on her, Vorum doubted that she would be as kind as she had been. Vorum thought of how he would react if Windcatcher found him and decided upon a course of action. Vorum could not in good conscience kill Windcatcher, nor would he fight her because he kind of liked her, and there was no good reason too. He would pretend that he smelt the faint scent of Malum on the wind and that he was trying to hide his scent so that he could ambush them. Windcatcher would probably find his statement ludicrous, as there had not seen or heard of any wolves from Malum pack for a while.
whatever, let her think I'm crazy. Being crazy is better than making, a possibly deady, enemy he thought to himself. He pricked up his ears and sank low into the small patch of herb, anxious to see if his plan would go smoothly...

WindCatcher's ears perked, and they flicked as she heard the rustling of the plants nearby. She smiled to herself, and lied down by the lake, her nose pointing up towards the sky. Usually she would not be caught this 'off-guard,' but since her and Vorum were basically at the same level, there was no reason for her to prove herself submissive or dominant. As her nose pricked towards the air, Vorum's scent began to disappear. At first she could not tell what had happened, but as his faint scent still lied in the breeze, WindCatcher smiled. Wondering what his rank was, she looked back towards the trees where she had heard the noise. She partially grinned, and smiled. Vorum. Elden. Valand. Tara. Only four wolves, and yet now...she seemed to fit in...

Vorum sat in silence, waiting, waiting and waiting. Windcatcher had not moved from her spot near the lake. Vorum grew tired and snuck out from under the pine branch. He looked out at Windcatcher from the sparse forest at the edge of the beach. Vorum turned his back to her and trot back through the forest. well...I'm not sure what to do, do i speak with her and find out more about her or do i simply leave?, he thought to himself. A gust blew through the forest and carried with it Windcatcher's scent. Vorum turned back towards the beach and saw her sitting by the lake. She looked calm. Vorum satlked through the trees and onto the soft sand. He stood and watched Windcatcher as her velevet fur rippled in the wind, he sat down. "So, what's your story?, Vorum asked with an interested expression. As he relaxed and waited to hear the story of her life, Vorum set his head down on his paws and let his eyes wander. He finall sat his gaze on a piece of driftwood that rocked and shivered with the tide of the lake...

WindCatcher's gaze fell to the lake; the water rippling over the high rocks. The grass swayed in the breeze, and blew WindCatcher's fur back as well. There was another bit of rustling from the trees, and WindCatcher looked over to the high pine trees. Green eyes peered out from the bushes, and pretty soon stood Vorum - his white hair swaying as well. WindCatcher smiled to herself. "Back so soon?" She asked, as she looked back to the lake. As she heard Vorum sat down and ask her about her story, WindCatcher's eyes narrowed. She froze, and glanced to Vorum before looking up to the sky. She then looked back to Vorum in a serious gaze. All her life, WindCatcher had felt envy, and hatred from her kind. The four wolves she had met had made a difference in her life - although WindCatcher was still locked up in her own world of hate. There was always a saying that she had heard through the wind; talking about things will make you feel better. WindCatcher had always dissed this saying, but could it be true...if not...WindCatcher always had other options... "I lived in a big pack, like any wolf, really. We lived by a small lake that ran through the forest, a big den perched at the top of a hill, and a trail that ran by the den - smothered in wolf prints." She paused, and took a deep breath. "My father was the alpha male, my mother the alpha female. They took charge of the pack." She looked up to a bird flying overhead. "I was born to a litter of eight, and was one of the only three that survived. My youngest brother was ill, and died later, while my older brother was taken captive of a pack." She looked down to her paws. "My father was alpha of the pack for many years, until a dark wolf came. He wanted to become part of the pack, but my father saw darkness and hatred inside of him. A wolf that was overpowerful and wanted to take over things. This grew the wolf angry. One day --" WindCatcher froze. Her gaze shifted to Vorum, then down to her paws.
WindStorm's black fur blew back, as a sharp wind hit his pelt. Aki stepped forward, and watched as his gaze fell to a dark shadow lurking about by the trees. "Aki, take WindCatcher into the den." WindStorm said, as he looked back to the young pup waddling around. "What's wrong?" Aki asked. "Take WindCatcher into the den," He said once more. Aki sighed, and picked WindCatcher up by the scruff. The young wolf pup curled into a ball as her mother carried her into the den. She moved to the back of the den, and set the pup down. "What's going on?" WindCatcher asked. Her mother smiled, and looked down to her, then back to her father. "Your father is just observing," Aki said, as she pushed WindCatcher behind her. The lurking shadow stepped forward, this time a wolf. "What do you want?" WindStorm asked. The wolf grinned, and began to walk around WindStorm. "Aren't I invited, too?" He asked, through white fangs. "You and I both know you're dark," Her father said in his deep, threatening voice. "Ha. If only you were smart enough." WindStorm bared his teeth, and ran to the wolf. He jumped onto his back, and growled. The dark wolf bared his teeth and threw WindStorm to the ground. WindCatcher buried herself in her mother's fur. "Mama," WindCatcher said, peeking out. "WindCatcher, stay down." Aki said. WindCatcher's golden eyes looked out from her mother's bushy tail. She could see her father, and a dark black wolf fighting. She hid her eyes, but couldn't help peeking every once and a while. Finally, she heard a grunt, a growl, and her father was pinned down. She could hear talking - although not knowing what they were saying - and then the dark wolf pierce his teeth into her father's neck. When his head flew up again, his evil stare turned to the other wolves. "Any one not wish for me to be alpha? You'll end up like him." The wolf glanced to the unmoving WindStorm. Aki's eyes narrowed, and she picked up WindCatcher when the wolf wasn't looking. She carefully carried her around the den, and when she was away, she broke into a run. Pretty soon they stopped by a lake. "Mama, where are we going?" WindCatcher asked. Aki looked down to her. "Far, far away from our pack." She said. And that was the last WindCatcher saw of her pack.

Artenia looked out at the two sitting together beside the lake. WindCatcher's story was so sad! She was about to step out and ask her to tell it again, for Artenia had missed the beginning, when Artenia stepped on a twig. CCRRACK! Startled, Artenia fled back into the woods, hoping no one had heard her.

Vorum started to convulse, emotions swelling over him and enveloping his being. Rage, sadness, and horrible memories fought for control of his mind as Windcatchers story came to an end. He gained control over his body and quickly excused himself, not giving a reason. "I..I need to leave...I'm so sorry... I'll ex...plain later...", his body shook and his eyes dialated and were immersed in fiery madness. He let out a stifled cackle and spittle flew from his mouth as he dashed away from the lake.
He heard a sharp crack, like a twig snapping under the slight pressure of a misplaced paw. Even in his madness he cursed the inexperienced wolf that made the sound, if they were on a hunting patrol they could have frightened all the prey in a 15 meter radius. The smell of wolf assaulted his nostrils and he saw eyes, wolf eyes. In his fury he lashed out at this wolf, only to scare it so that it may save itself from Vorum's rage.
soon he burst into a small grove, he fell to the ground and anger took control. Homewreckers...bloodspillers...parentslashers...He sttod up calmly and the rage took control once again. his claws tore threw bark and left trees bare he shredded a log so badly it seemed to be reduced to only twigsthis continued for another 30 minutes. Vorum regained his senses and howled mournfully...he collapsed and slipped into fits of crying and sobbing...
He finally began to see his surroundings clearly, his eyes fell upon a large glitterring rock. He pawed over to the rock and followed the veins of different types of minerals throughout the slab. He saw a vein of a particular hue and his eyes herdened; red. The rocks smooth surface and flowing edges reminded him of Red River. Anger flashed through him and in a split second the rock before bore deep, ragged claw marks. glittering shards flew through the air and nestled themselves in Vorum's fur. Vorum was now exhausted so he half fell, half sat down and let sleep meet him in the small clearing, under the giant glittering stone...

There was a strong silence, then Vorum spoke. Her ears flicked as she listened to his stuttering sentences. "Vorum..." She could feel his madness, and stepped forward. Her nostril took in his sick scent, and she wrinkled her nose. "Vorum...I think there's something wrong.." She watched him dash off into the woods. Moments later she heard scratching, panting, followed by howling. She tilted her head, and followed after his sickly scent. With her nose to the ground, and her paws stiffly moving beside her, she found Vorum...dead tired beside a red-sharded rock. He looked sick: foam dripping from his mouth, shards in his fur, his claws out and poised. She stepped forward. "Vorum...are you...okay?" She had seen viruses before...and once had even come to a pack with the disease. She quickly made her way through, lucky not to go as far as to know the pack. She didn't feel like touching him...the fear of the other pack drove her thoughts back. Instead, she stood tall and erect. "Vorum. Are you okay?"

Vorum heard someone calling him, his eyes fluttered open and he found himself staring at a scared Windcatcher. He thingyed his head, confused. Suddenly it all rushed back and he tried to hide his face from her... He felt ashamed. He wiped froth from his mouth shook the red shards out of his fur. "I'm...I'm not sure what to say..." he stuttered as he let his head droop. He collapsed on the ground and, once again, started to weep. He tried to speak through his tears, "I...I don't...my parents...when...when died...". He began to hyperventilate and he gave up trying to explain himself.
He finally regained his composure and sighed. "This all started when...when my parents were killed. A rival clan bent on chaos and destruction ravaged my old clan, killed my parents and tortured me extensively. They used my parents to torture me emotionally, they slowly killed them over two days while I was forced to watch. I knew that by asking you...about your life would be risky but...Well the point is my emotional scars are worse than any physical handicap..." he walked back to the rock and ran his tongue over the deep gouges that his claws evidently left there. "My body and mind can't handle emotion. Your story, was so sad that it engaged a violent episode. I'm so sorry you had to experience that..."
Vorum skulked to the edge of the small clearing looked over his shoulder and said "I don't think I should be near you anymore...for your safety"...

WindCatcher's ears swiveled with interest. Vorum? Violent? This didn't make sense at all... Listening to his story, WindCatcher picked out the words, and everything came together. She watched him weep on the mossy floor, his tears slowly seeping through the grass. She sat down. What was she to do next? 'Jeez, Vorum. I'm sorry,' or 'I'm so sorry for your loss?' Finally she found words, and decided to share them. "Vorum, this may sound odd to you, but consider yourself lucky. I never knew my parents too well...the only time I ever really got to see my father was in his death stage." She quivered a bit, and shook her head; her ears bobbing. She looked back to her hind leg, and a cold shiver ran down her spine. She glanced back, and saw an awful red scar on her right hind leg. She looked back to Vorum, and her tail drooped over the scar. She dipped her head. "Vorum..." She paused, and her words drained out. What was she to say now? She knew Vorum's past...and he would never find the true meaning of herself. WindCatcher looked up at the sky - it always seemed to be her back-up glance incase of awkward moments like this. Sighing, she looked back to Vorum, only to hear him say; "I don't think I should be near you anymore...for your safety..." WindCatcher sat up tall, her eyes narrowed. "Vorum, don't act like that!" She stood up. "If you are not sick, then I by far have no meaning elsewise to leave you. You are a very kind wolf, and I am sorry for your past. I will not just wander off, Vorum. I have been around dangerous wolves all my life..." She stopped. Was this really where she wanted to get to? Bringing her past into the future? She sank down to the ground, her tail drooped and her ears sagged. Great. Off on the wrong start.
