A familiar paw steps onto familiar lands... however, awaiting unfamiliar events...
This wasn't exactly the comfort that she felt when she was within her own grounds, but it was still somewhat home. The waters here were calmed by the light, star-shaped flakes that fell whimsically from the grey skies above. Winter was beginning, at last. It was all a pattern now, melted with lonely days and unforgiving memories. The alphess let out a sigh, slightly amused as the trails of her breath were found by smoke, indicating the temperature had dropped much since the previous twilight.
This time of day was always pretty. The greys and purples of the twilight, winter sky were always peaceful. And for once, everything seemed truly still....silent...at peace. A snowflake managed to wander of it's course of flight and perch itself upon Beltane's nose, instantly fragmenting into water as her heat was unmatched by the tiny starlet.
She walked, swaying calmly, to the edge of the freezing water. Usually, an abundance of fish could be seen, simply by watching long enough at the shadows swimming freely beneath the surface of blue, crystalline, dainty waves. However, the lake had changed into a deeper azure color now, a reflection of the weather soon to come. Hopefully, she would not be alone again...
Sure, she could survive, but what was surviving without anything to live for? As of this moment, she was Alphess of herself alone. Her green orbs looked to the skies above, wondering if her deceased loved ones were proud of her, this very day. She closed her eyes slowly, feeling the wind carry her thoughts away. No negative thinking...
Only time will tell.

Once before had this wolf set paw on this land, while she was traveling she passed the area briefly. Dusk was fading into night and winter was hitting the land fairly quick. She had no reason to be here, then again she had no reason to be anywhere but her muse for something to kill or hunt dragged her along. Looking out upon the lake, it looked like a choppy mirror that reflected the sky. Though the still water soon was rippled by the falling flakes, which Sahtara didn't care for.
Her walk was brisk, head held high as she surveyed the surrounding area with a cold expression. The temperature had dropped recently so the air was beginning to chill, though out of all the seasons winter was one of the things she could enjoy. It was beautiful yet could slowly kill anything it willed to.
Her vermilion gaze fell upon something that looked like a dark blob from this distance, she only gave the shape a moments' attention then raised her head to the sky. It was silent for a long while until a cold, tearing howl erupted from the ivory fae's maw. Sahtara greeted the winter, as it was her season.

An unfamiliar song pierced the silence like a furious arrow, somewhat startling Beltane. Her eyes shot open as her head swiveled backwards violently. The form of an unfamiliar wolf stood upwind from herself, howling a simple lyric.
The purpose of the song was unknown to the jet-black fae, for it really had no meaning, other than to announce her presence. Slightly confused, Beltane thingyed her head, not letting the unknown wolf leave her sight. After all, she was within unclaimed lands...this wolf could be anyone, with any purpose.
One-half of a paw step was the only move Beltane made; to show this wolf she was not in fear of her, but to also let her know she meant no harm as of yet. No need to get hostile unless for good reason. After all, it was just another like herself...
Triangular auds homed in on the white female's every breath, tracking her, unsure of her purpose here. Beltane silently gazed at her, awaiting her next move.

Turning her head slowly, Sahtara realized that the shadow was that of a wolf. It moved with some caution, she walked towards the wolf, with no caution to her step yet no welcoming to her body language. As she neared the fae Sahtara noted the wolf's peculiar markings. Though it wasn't much different compared to her ruby eyes.
Sahtara watched the other wolf carefully, any movement of eye or body she could see and hear. Expression was cold and revealed nothing as to what the dark leader had in mind. She stopped before she was in striking distance and stood still, other than her almost slithering tail.

As the wolf got closer, Beltane allowed her black, fluffy tassel to rise, showing the she-wolf that she withheld authority, just not over her. Instinct tryed forcing a low growl to rise within her throat, but Beltane would not allow it. Growling was easy enough, controlling mind of body was impressive.
This wolf had a keen, snake like way to her. As if she had just morphed from some kind of creature who was sent here to simply do know good. An eye raised over the other, with a smirk to match, as Beltane observed the down right readable arrogance that floated within the skull of the fae. This should prove interesting.
Since this wolf had made it obvious she would not talk first...Beltane would have to do it. She rolled her shoulders, hearing a few tiny pops as her bones shook off the bitterness of the falling snows cold. Well then, most wolves I know don't howl on a whimsy, such as yourself...but, a good howl it was. she stated, no real emotion to it. She would play the game of big bad wolf, since it was obviously what the white female standing before her was trying to pull off.

Though her dainty appearance makes her seem less intimidating than others; she was quite the force to be reckoned with. Sahtara sat comfortably on her haunches, tail to the right which swished over the thin layer of snow.
"Mm, most wolves would rather greet the summer than winter." she simply said, as though it was enough of an explanation. Again Sahtara was still other than her ever moving tail, her expression stayed stone cold as she observed the other fae. Something about this wolf seemed all too different from her, though she was just thinking such from watching the wolf. "To make any conclusions I'll have to pick at her further."

Being polite, Beltane joined this wolf, resting her haunches upon the freezing earth, shifting among the stale blades of grass to find comfort. The wolf's red eyes were quite piercing...to think what another wolf would think, being stared at by both Beltane and herself, it was quite amusing to think about..
Shaking off her distractable manner, her eyes returned to the wolf sitting in front of her, giving her a peculiar look, as if questioning, but more or less curiosity. The wolf spoke calmly, relieving some of the cut-throat tension within the air. This was a formidable meeting. Beltane nodded her head slightly. Agreed, but both have their aspects of beauty and pain I suppose.. Beltane said, stating her opinion. What brings you out? She asked politely.
It wasn't hard to smell a packland trailing from her fur....This meeting was going to prove interesting indeed.

She could have cared more or less for courtesies but thought nothing of the gesture. Sahtara dug her claws into the frozen soil, liking the feeling of cold grass under her paws and icy soil racing from her paws to her ears.
Sahtara stared back at the wolf with the same emotionless eyes. "On my original bout to this area I was looking for something to crush in my jaws, but instead found the "peaceful" area, which is this bay" she said, snout turning in the direction of the water and back. The smell emanating from this wolf disgusted her, it was a scent much like how her god-forsaken homeland had smelt.

Beltane raised a brow upon the ivory fae. Searching primarily to fulfill the sensation of crushing bone between your jaws wasn't her exact idea of fun, but...to each wolf their own. Beltane took a deep breath in, letting the bitterness of the cold shoot needles into her large lungs...just for the sake of feeling something.
She took notice to this strange wolf taking in her scent, and the reaction that followed was obviously one of distaste...it made her wonder... If you don't mind me asking...Beltane stated, eyes pinned to hers.. Are you from around here? That was an innocent enough question..right? Of course there was so much more to it, but hopefully this wolf was thinking less of her, than expecting more.

Licking her chops at the thought of some small animal being crushed under the raw pressure of her jaws. She breathed slow and steady, relaxed and rhythmically. Though now that she thought about it, the fae was quite obviously from a pack of light, benevolent wolves. "I am from this area, yes. But not particularly in the Unclaimed Terra." she said blankly.

So, she was from a pack after all. Hopefully, it was the neutral one...but something about the smell of her homeland was unwelcoming...
Beltane flicked her right ear as a snowflake embedded itself within her jet-black fur. They were steadily falling now, caressing her curves that were obviously built for stealth. The wolf had relaxed herself more...this would not be a day of harm, hopefully.
The black alphess looked into the eyes of her fellow, searching. It was like looking into a deep red brick wall...nothing. I see..then I shall assume you are from a pack round here. she stated, her maw moving slowly as the words escaped. it was not a question. It was all to obvious now. This wolf was black of heart.
No need to get hasty...she thought to herself, poised and traditional. This was neutral ground, and this snow-pelted fae with the deadly auburn eyes had every right to be here as well.

Nyima smelled other wolves, two to be exact. She'd only just left the Nutural Pack and then traveled through a small section of the Aduro pack's Territory. She hadn't seen or smelled another wolf in a week, she missed the friendlyness of her pack members gaze.
Nyima had hoped to find a member of the Aduro Pack while she travled through what seemed like it would be their Territory, but she had no such luck. She was a good hearted wolf trapped in a world of impending evil.
She ran towards the smell of wolves and it became clear that at least one of them was a fae like herself, but the other's scent was masked with a scent that made her wary and uneasy.
She bolted around a rock and saw the two wolves, Nyima could now clearly see which one was Dark hearted. The black fae had a kind glit to her eyes while the other's eyes were cold and hard. She wanted to shrink into nothing at the thought of comming face to face with a wolf with a black heart, but forced herself to approch them, she wasn't going to become an Alphess by letting fear take ahold of her.
Nyima stepped bravely forward, comming up next to the wolves.
"Hello," she said looking at both of them, "I'm Nyima. Who are you and where are you from?" Nyima looked warily at the wolf that smelled oddly, the other black one seemed ok. She waited for a response.

Her eyes seemed to pierce the fae's orbs, it was somewhat obvious she had more emotion than Sahtara and was almost positive she was from the light pack. The snowflakes blended near perfectly with her fur-tone other than the light tinge and scarlet gaze.
Sahtara stayed stiff and cold in posture, tone and expression while conversing with the wolf. "I am alphess of Malum." her face slowly creeped into an very slight and eerie smirk. Blinking slowly she pawed a bit more at the snow then stilled again.
The triangular shapes fitted to her head twitched at the voice of another presence, it seemed timid in a way. She turned her head enough to be able to see the new wolf in the corner of her sight while most of it was still focused on the wolf in front of her. "At this moment you do not need to know my identity, wolf."

Nyima bristled instinctively, though she did not intend to fight. She looked into the Malum Alphess's eyes, flinching slightly as they seemed to look right through her.
"And why is it not my buisness to want to get to know a fellow wolf, Malum or not?!" she growled bitterly, seeing as the black Fae hadn't spoken yet she wanted to keep the conversation between her and the Malum wolf going.
The bitter was fake but convincing and she made her eyes turn cold and hard, also a very convincing feature. Nyima looked at the black fae, eyes changing from cold and hard to warm and welcoming. She wanted her to know that she wasn't dark hearted at all, just a really good actor.

The smirk on the fellow wolf's face would have told Beltane her alignment any day, but the alphess? This was far more than an average meeting. This was potentially dangerous.
Beltane shifted into stratagize mode, wondering if the Malum leader had known of Beltane's existence before this point, or her history that would forever be embedded upon these lands...
Before she could say a word, another wolf had managed to find her way upon the two. The wolf had odd markings, like herself. The orange streak of fur that glided down her posture could be seen a mile away.
And of course, as the young wolfess introduced herself as Nymia, the snarling words of the Malum alphess had to come sniveling out of her muzzle. Why hate everything? There was simply no point. Beltane worried for the young Nymia. Standing up for yourself is one thing, but Malum wolves were not forgiving.
She thought for a moment, her bright green orbs fixated upon the swaying, dead branches of a black tree. Hello Nymia...Beltane said, warmheartedly. Though her head was turned towards the new comer, the black pupils of the Aduro Alphess never let Malum's dark lordess leave her sights.
