"I will not interfer with what you wish to be, Valand," Elden sighed as he sat up again and then stood, shaking his coat down. He was very fidgety at the moment, his long travel making him restless. He looked at Windcatcher, a soft smile spreading onto his maw. Maybe she could be beta female, he was not sure. He did not really know her well enough to say whether or not she would be good in a position of power. He would definitely watch her closely.
Surprisingly, Elden stood still for a long time, head lower than his shoulders, the hair on his back ruffled and unkempt. He had a lot of fur, thick and black and slightly curly in places. His fur, in fact, made him seem even bigger than he was. His emerald eyes wandered from Valand to Windcatcher and back again, observing them both. Both bore scars, marks of their life, both seemed comfortable in his presence. Maybe they would both be his advisors, his close companions. Only time would tell.

She sat up rather tall, interested in the conversation. She glanced to Valand, and smiled. "You could say that. Although I haven't been running very much." She frowned a bit, although not showing all of her longing. She glanced to Elden, and she sighed. "But yet I still do not know of any rank that would accompany what I was built for." She smiled, and looked between the two. "Yet I still long for something to do, since I wish to not sit here anymore and wait for some miracle to happen." Her tail flicked, and curled over her back paws. She smiled, and lied down again. She was happy she had made her point, yet she still wished for the males' beliefs and interests for her longing unknown desire.

"That's settled, then." he smiled. Reverting his gaze back to Windcatcher once again he began to speak "You could possibly be a messenger, if you'd like, maybe even a spy if that suits your fancy." he suggested with a slight nod. He was not sure if she could handle being Beta, as it was a difficult position to uphold and figured she would enjoy a bit of free time but still have an important job.
He looked up at the sky, as if stretching and then looked back to the group.

She glanced to Elden, then to Valand. "A spy?" She tilted her head to Valand. "What would be the...advantages of it?" She smiled, and lied down on the soft ground, sighing. They still had a lot of thought to put in it for everyone's sake, and she still had a lot of time to think herself. She stretched out, almost touching Valand's pelt. Yet she was younger, and Valand had been there longer, so he probably knew of the positions she'd be best at for agility, speed, and maybe a bit of stamina.

"I imagine spies would need to be very brave wolves, and would be very repsected for going so close to 'enemies'," Elden pondered slowly. He looked from Valand to Windcather and then back again. He sniffed lightly and licked his muzzle slowly, looking down at his paws and thinking for a long while. He remained stood where he was, his tail held at a mid-level and his head hung a bit low in thought.
"So I have my right hand wolf," he said softly, eyes wandering over Valand. "And a brave female who could be a number of things." He chuckled softly and lowered his rear again to sit, gazing at Wincatcher for a moment. "I'm sure we will find something suitable for you, it will just take time to find somewhere you are comfortable. But other than that, we have the startings of a good pack." He smiled gently and looked up at the darkening sky. They had been sat there a while and the day was starting to dwindle. "Does Terminus have a central part? Where the pack lives?" He directed his question to Valand, wondering if Terminus was like Leylune with a central hub of activity.

"Yes, they very much so are," he replied with a nod. There was just something about the way Windcatcher carried herself that reminded the old wolf of a brave and swift spy or messenger. The profession was a very valuable one and few wolves could take on the job to do so and still live out a full life. Most of the time when spies were caught, they were ripped to pieces or turned into omega wolves.
He bobbed his head proudly as he was called Elden's adviser. Valand set his eyes upon Windcatcher again, trying to think of anything else she'd be well suited for. He was just there for suggestions, it was her decision not his. Tilting his head to the right as a question was asked he began to think then replied "There are hills to the east where pack meetings were held..." he trailed off for a moment "..and a large area for dens to to the north west," he explained. Their names had changed under the trailing off of the three major packs and their leaders, when rogues and members of the pack decided to take a hold of the alpha position.

Her ears perked, as she listened to Elden and Valand's comments. "A spy? Messenger? Not to barge the job, but is there any need, now to become a spy?" A grin crossed her face, and she looked to Elden, then Valand. "Yes, it does make sense, I suppose, for me to be a spy...or even a messenger. It's already settled that Elden would be Alpha...and Valand a right hand second-ranked wolf. But yet, I can't find anything to match me." She frowned, yet her eyes still showed anxiety. "I don't think I'd be chosen as beta, or a medicine healing wolf. It wouldn't make sense for me to, really. My skill of speed and agility wouldn't be much use for a medicine wolf." She smiled, and took a quick glance at Valand. "What others are there?"

Elden sniffed the air lightly as a small smile crossed his face. "I'm sure you'll find something to suit you, Windcatcher. You do not have to put in a position right at this moment, for it should be the right thing for you, not a rushed decision," he said lowly, his tail twitching amongst the leaves. "A messenger would be useful, to communicate with the other packs, but this could mean days on end of running to and from the leaders, could you do that?" He tilted his head gently and watched the female, his emerald eyes studying her. She would be suited for something, he was sure. She was fast and light, of course, yet she seemed so proud and held herself so well. Elden was rather stumped by her, he really had no idea where she could be placed in the pack. He would offer a beta position to her, but he needed to know she could be trustworthy and also trusting in his command. If he said jump, she had to jump - this had always been his ideal wolf as a beta. His father had had the most loyal friend ever, his beta had always been by his side, even when his father had fallen in battle. Their relationship had been a beautiful one, and one Elden would love to recreate but knew he probably never would.

“Yes, Ma'am,” he said with a smile that changed to an expression of of contemplation “I guess, but you'll never know when you need a spy or two. Messengers at this point would be more important even though we have no idea of the other packs or of their alphas,” he reasoned. He was thinking of anything else to match up with Windcatcher's skill from what he could see. Generally something quick “Warrior Scout?” he paused “You pretty much patrol the borders to find other wolves and occasionally scout out the battlefields if one is imminent”
“Just think about it and eventually you'll have one that fits you perfect” he told Windcatcher with a grin. She had an interesting combination of traits that fit in different professions. The speed of a messenger and the pride of a warrior, two contradictory things together in one wolf, he chuckled to himself. Valand hoped to serve this new alpha as his adviser and friend, perhaps.

Her ears echoed as she listened to both the males' ideas. She sat down, looking at her paws -- debating over many options. She had good speed, so-and-so stamina, and had lots of pride. What would that serve good for? Yes, a hunter, maybe. A messenger, even. Because of all the options, she was having a hard time choosing what would match her best. After a long while of debate in her mind, she sighed, and looked back up. "I will think about it," She said, with a dip of her head. Even though the males had probably thought she would think over it, she herself, needed time to, as well. As she said those words, she lied down. Stretching her long pelt out under the tree, her legs barely touched the tree's trunk, before curling up again. She looked up, seeing Elden's emerald eyes. She looked to Valand, the white wolf. She rested her head on her forepaws, and looked to them both. She still had a lot of time, and yet other things to go over, as well.

Elden yawned and stood, shaking his pelt down and stretching his limbs, his legs appearing even longer as he did so. He knew they could sit there all day, but he had things he had to do now, such as learn where he actually was. "If you don't mind," he said cheerfully, wagging his tail high in the air. "I'm going to go and have a look around, I feel I need to know the area better." He flicked his ears back briefly at a noise behind him and then looked from Valand to Windcatcher and back again. "You may join me if you want, or stay here, but if I do not wander then I will never be very useful to anyone," he chuckled, starting to move towards the trees with confident, long strides.
Elden liked to wander. He learned a lot of things by wandering. He learned the landscapes, the area, the territories. He learned where the deer roamed and where the best spot for fresh water was. Elden was generally a very curious wolf. He investigated things, and this was also his attitude towards other wolves. He like to investigate them, too.
