Her tongue hanging from her mouth, she began to move forward. Although her body ached, she kept it going. Her white paws shook and skimmed along the leafy ground, cracks and scraps coming from them. Her ears perked up and she scanned the area. She could hear the sound of rushing water. She began to smile to herself, and quickly moved her pace to a slow jog. The water moved faster and the sound became louder as she narrowed down deeper into the forest. Then, there was the river. Although, there was a strange scent. Her tail stood in a lowered position, and her eyes narrowed. Suddenly, she knew what it was. A wolf border. She had only come to one once before, but now she hoped that this pack would really accept her. She stopped in front of the river, her golden eyes searching the other side for another wolf. There was none. She lied down in the shade of a big looming tree, and drifted off to sleep.
